Refund Policy

STATUTORY REFUND POLICY FOR FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID RECIPIENTS

The Vocational Education & Extension Board receives Federal Title IV funds and in accordance with these funds has an established refund policy. If a Student completely withdraws (officially or unofficially) or is dismissed from the School and was a federal financial aid recipient, the Student is entitled to receive funding based on the percentage of the academic payment period that the Student completed.

If the Student completes more than 60% of the academic period based on 450 clock hours, the Student has earned 100% of the financial aid for that payment period.

If the Student completes 60% or less of the academic payment period of 450 hours, the percentage of the period completed is the percentage of aid earned and eligible to be received. Any aid that is unearned as a result of completely withdrawing from the School at the 60% or less point of the Academic period must be returned to the US Dept of Education within 45 days.

The policy applies to all Students receiving federal financial aid. Further information regarding the withdrawal and return of Title IV Funds can be obtained from the Financial Aid Officer.

Upon withdrawal from the Practical Nursing program, the School must calculate the amount of financial aid the Student did not earn and those funds must be returned to the government within 45 days.

The School will determine the amount of unearned financial aid to be refunded by multiplying the School costs by the percentage of unearned funds.

Examples of the calculations of the amount of Federal Financial Aid earned are available to the Student in the School’s financial aid office.
